The array of images and their integration echo issues I am preoccupied with, such as: relationships and identity, opposites and opposition, together and apart, black and white, whole and incomplete, exposed and hidden and more. The use of fabrics to cover, hide, conceal, encase, veil, disguise, allows me to "exist" in the social world that demands exposure and revelation. The need to disguise is essentially an escape to a different reality, an imaginary, detached, hidden, world. A world that allows more than one truth.
I chose to photograph figures that have no specific identity, with their face covered and positioned in disturbing stances, in order to contrast the aesthetic enjoyable experience with the vulnerable mental state of the other found inside each of us.
