My project explores the place of pottery in the art field and the relation between art and craft, while examining the possibility of making a connection between the two in the objects created.
Am I an artist, a potter, perhaps both?
My points of departure are classical pottery and the nature, as well as the world of art, painting and drawing. The objects were created using a potter's wheel, and then manipulated by hand and by using carving and modeling techniques that gave them their final shape. The objects hold in their accumulation the duality that motivated me at the beginning of the process – not only in their appearance, but also in their installation in the still field.
Materials and technique: porcelain, a combination of wheel thrown and hand building techniques (sculpting, carving), electric and gas firing.
