My final project presents an encounter between materials. Through a connection between felted wool and ceramic material, I examine their influence on each other, and their influence on the material transformations of the atmosphere.
The connection between the materials was formed during the work process, when I worked the wool in the casting molds. I wanted to explore what happens when soft wool wraps objects typically characterized by hard surfaces. Do they need protection and cover formed by the felting process, or do they wish to remove layers and reveal themselves?
Each object has a different wool thickness, and their display creates interactions and dynamics between different items in the group as a whole and with one another.
Materials and technique: casting in plaster molds, wool, wet and dry felting.
