My work engages with the ambivalent relation between the machine and nature.
The work is comprised of two parts: the birds standing on the floor which symbolize "nature", and the "machine", composed of cogwheels and light fixtures. The work is interactive and the viewers can operate the machine with a lever attached to one of the cogwheels, as a symbolic expression of the various techniques used by mankind. For me, the concept of "technique" is broad and dynamic, representing ideas, notions and methods which serve as the foundation of the technological world.
Materials and technique: glassblowing, Pyrex tubes blowing, woodcutting, porcelain casting.
