In my project I chose to combine the endless movement of the fabric with a personal element – peppers. During the working process I examined the potter’s wheel, and used it to emulate the flow of the fabric. I tried to find out how all this flow is translated by the spinning wheel; then, as though on its own, the "pepper" emerged from between the folds of the material.
The project is comprised of elements in different sizes, free shapes that allow the viewer to peek inside them; "peppers" in a different interpretation made on the potter’s wheel, alongside a subtle and fragile allusion to the pepper that is long gone.
Materials and technique: mixed media, wheel thrown, hand built and casting. Stoneware ceramic clay, speckled yellow clay, casting clay, Engobe, electric kiln firing at 1220 degrees.
