Day-Draping

In the collection I wished to explore what might be considered a re-actualization of haute couture fashion repertoire in the 21st century. My aim was to create a look that raises questions about that repertoire and presents a proposal for a renewed creation of the familiar. The patterns were created in free draping, intuitive cutting and deconstruction of geometrical shapes like circles and spiral cuts. In the collection there is a juxtaposition of textures, using materials that serve as symbols of luxury such as satin, fine wool, podange, and brocade. I used textiles that make me dream, lure me into a tradition of wealth and opulence, and challenge good taste and the traditional status of elegance.

Materials: wool, velvet, silk, brocade, jacquard.

Technique: draping, sewing, hand sewing.
